Silphite
Our customer challenges: As we move to a more sustainable way of growing crops and turf, the toolbox of actives available to growers is reducing every year. Our solution: That is why silicon-based products are so exciting – Silphite combines silicon, phosphites, potassium, humic and amino acids for healthy plant growth and quick plant uptake. The silicon builds robust natural defence to disease and pest attack and offers a sustainable solution to your armoury. Analysis: P205 6.6%, K20 13.1%, Si02 6.6%
Product Features & Benefits
Enhanced Structural Strength: Silicon contributes to the formation of stronger cell walls and tissues in plants. This enhances the structural integrity of plants, making them more resistant to stresses
Disease and Pest Resistance: Silicon can stimulate the plants' natural defence mechanisms, leading to improved resistance against various diseases and pests. Thicker cuticles create a physical barrier on plant surfaces that deters pests, making it harder for pathogens to penetrate.
Environmental sustainability
Silicon-based fertilisers are often considered environmentally friendly, as they don’t typically contribute to nutrient runoff and water pollution and also improve soil structure and fertility over time.
Boosts defence systems
Silicon can stimulate the plants’ natural defence mechanisms, leading to improved resistance against various diseases and pests.
Improves stress tolerance
Applying silicon can enhance the plants’ ability to tolerate various abiotic stresses, such as high temperatures, drought, and salinity.
Chlorophyll development
Our silicon products can enhance chlorophyll production, improving quality and yield.
The Benefits
- Abiotic Stress Tolerance – Silicon can enhance plants’ ability to tolerate various abiotic stresses, such as high temperatures, drought, and salinity. It helps plants maintain proper water balance and reduce the negative effects of stress.
- Improved Nutrient Uptake – Silicon can enhance the uptake of essential nutrients like phosphorus and potassium, leading to improved overall plant nutrition. The inclusion of phosphites aids root development and nutrient uptake.
- Better Photosynthesis – Silicon has been linked to improved photosynthesis rates, leading to increased growth and yields.
- Improved Crop Quality – The use of silicon has been associated with improved crop and fruit quality, including enhanced shelf life, colour, and flavour.
- Environmental Sustainability – Silicon-based fertilisers are often considered environmentally friendly, as they don’t typically contribute to nutrient runoff and water pollution. They can also improve soil structure and fertility over time.
- Improved Root Health – silicon and phosphites can strengthen root systems, promoting better nutrient and water uptake.
- Biostimulant uptake – fulvic and amino acids aid the uptake of other nutrients, as well as aiding translocation in the plant.
How to Apply & Analysis
Crop | Rate | Timing |
Brassicas / OSR / Pulse / Root / Beet Crops | 1-3 L/ha | From 4-6 true leaf stage. Repeat every 14-21 days |
Lettuce / Leafy salads | 2-3 L/ha | From 7 days post-planting. Repeat 10-14 day intervals |
Cereals | 1-2 L/ha | GS21-23. Again at GS30-33 |
Potatoes | 2 L/ha | At early tuber bulking. Again at late tuber bulking |
Amenity turf | 7.5-10 L/ha | At active growth. Repeat every 14-21 days |
How to apply
Repeat apply at 10-14day intervals as required during periods of rapid growth.
DO NOT apply more than 2 applications per crop.
To be used only where there is a recognized need.
Do not exceed recommended application rate.

Tank Mixing
Fielder Silphite as an alkaline solution is best applied alone and should be added to the tank when at least 50% of the water is added. Maintain agitation throughout. Do not add with acidic based fertilisers.
